Had our living/dining room arch widened and some decorative plaster removed from the base of the arch. We now have a small area to cover up with some skirting.
I don\\\’t think we\\\’ll be able to colour match or find the same skirting dimensions that we currently have so was wondering about alternative ways to neaten these bits up on both sides of the arch without replacing all the skirting in both rooms. Any ideas are appreciated.
Sam yes. When you have that situation with two differing sizes meeting you use what is called a ‘plinth block’. That can be the size necessary to accommodate the sizes of timber meeting at this block. If you look at pictures of rooms in very old buildings you will see this is how it is done.
